Smrutishesh Madhukarrao Tamgadge

Late Shri Madhukarrao S. Tamgadge was born in a small village, Sindi (Rly.), Taluka Seloo, Wardha District of Maharashtra State.
After completing his basic education initially in his village and later at Wardha in most challenging circumstances, he joined Milind College, Aurangabad for his Bachelor in Arts.
However, due to the economic compulsion and in order to sustain his family, before completing his graduation, he joined the Indian Army as a soldier.
After working for 23 years in the EME regiment of the Indian Army and having served at Bhopal, Delhi, Tezpur (Assam), Secunderabad, Pune, etc., he took voluntary retirement in 1990. Subsequently, he joined MSEB as a Security Guard and retired in 2003 after superannuation.
Influenced by the ideas of Babasaheb Ambedkar and other social reformers like Rashtrapita Jyotiba Phule, Sant Kabir, Gadge Baba, he was a humanitarian and a rational person at core and imbibed the same values in his children as well.
In order to cherish his memories, ideals and the values he held dear, the Tamgadge Trust works in the field of supporting education especially of girl children, scholarships to orphan girls, working in the health related issues primarily in the rural and tribal areas, supporting literature and research of issues pertaining to weaker sections of the Society, etc.
